With 24,000 students, 1,400 faculty members and 8,300 staff, UCI is among the fastest-growing campuses in the University of California system. U.S. News & World Report consistently ranks UCI among the nation’s best universities. Three UCI researchers have won Nobel Prizes – most recently Irwin Rose, in chemistry, in 2004.

The UC Irvine Intercollegiate Athletics program offers NCAA Division I competition in 23 sports. The majority of Anteater teams compete in the Big West Conference, with others in the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation.   UCI sports facilities include Anteater Ballpark, Anteater Stadium, Anteater Pool, Henry Nichols Boathouse, Bren Events Center, Crawford Court, Crawford Field, Anteater Golf Courses (Coto de Caza, Shady Canyon, Pelican Hill, Big Canyon, Strawberry Farms, Santa Ana Country Club, Dove Canyon, Talega, and Aliso Viejo Golf Clubs), Lloyd Ross Grandstands Tennis Stadium, and the Ed Carroll Strength and Conditioning Center.

UCI Arts centers include the Irvine Barclay Theatre in addition to the Bren Events Center.

The University of California, Irvine is located off the San Joaquin Hills Trans Corridor (73) bound to the south and east by Bonita Canyon Rive, west by MacArthur Boulevard, to the north by Campus Drive and Jamoree Road.
