The East Los Angeles Civic Center is located at the northeast corner of Third Street and Mednic Avenue.  It is the site of the East Los Angeles Library, Roybal Comprehensive Health Center, Superior Courts Building, Probation Department, Soledad Enrichment Action Center, Sheriff's facilities, a park, and a lake.  

The 28-acre site is now under renovation.   New and improved facilities will include a new replacement library, a new child care center, a new municipal services building, a new transit plaza on Third Street, and various park improvements to provide for expanded recreational opportunities. The project strives to foster a campus-like setting through high quality and easily identifiable facilities, improved landscaping, a way finding system and landmark elements consistent with the campus theme, expanded pedestrian walkways, and roadways designed to meld with their surroundings.
