Located in the heart of Downtown LA’s Little Tokyo Historic District, the Japanese American National Museum is the only museum in the United States dedicated to sharing the experience of Americans of Japanese ancestry.

Hours: Tuesday–Sunday, 10 a.m.–5 p.m.;
FREE every Thursday 5 p.m.–8 p.m. and all day every
third Thursday of the month.

Closed: Mondays, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, New Year’s Day, Fourth of July. All holidays are subject to change without notice.

Metro: The museum is easily accessible by public transportation via MetroLink and MTA and Dash bus routes.

By car: 101 Freeway south, exit Los Angeles Street; turn right off the freeeway onto Los Angeles Street, and turn left onto First Street. The museum is located on the left-hand side.
101 Freeway north, exit Alameda Street turn left onto Alameda Street, and right onto First Street. The museum is located on the right-hand side.
Public parking lots available off First and Central.
