Originally founded in 1917, Pasadena Playhouse has played the role of community theatre, acting school (known informally in Hollywood as the Star Factory, eventually training actors such as Raymond Burr, Dustin Hoffman and Gene Hackman), and now nationally recognized arts and culture institution. Directions: From San Gabriel Valley east: Take the 210 Freeway heading WEST and exit at LAKE AVE. Turn left and go four lights to COLORADO BLVD. Turn right.
