Today, the Santa Ana Zoo at Prentice Park is a nationally recognized zoological garden occupying a unique urban site in the heart of Orange County. But had it not been for a local resident’s fascination with monkeys, and his contribution of 12 acres of orange groves to the City if it would agree to develop and permanently maintain a park containing a zoo for at least 50 primates, the City of Santa Ana may have never had a zoo. The Zoo’s continued emphasis is on small primates representing various species.

Santa Ana Zoo at Prentice Park is a place for fun and enjoyment by people of all ages - an oasis of peace and quiet and a refuge for the wild things of nature.  Come and spend a couple of hours and enjoy this little treasure in the heart of Orange County.

Hours: Daily, 10:00 am–4:00 pm

Closed: Saturday, August 26, 2006 for Zoofari Black-tie fund raising event,
New Year’s Day and Christmas Day. All holidays are subject to change without notice.
