The 1,200-acre Riverside campus of the University of California is conveniently located approximately 50 miles east of Los Angeles within easy driving distance to most of the major cultural and recreational offerings in Southern California.  In addition, it is virtually equidistant from the desert, the mountains, and the ocean.

Enrollment at UCR is about 14,500 undergrads and 2,100 graduate students. The campus includes academic settings such as laboratories, libraries, and performing arts studios, as well as housing and recreational facilities. Prominent features of the campus include the 161-foot carillon tower, the Botanic Gardens, and acres of citrus groves.

UC Riverside Highlanders are a member of NCAA Division I and participates in the Big West Conference. UCR has approximately 320 student athletes competing in 17 sports, including men's and women's soccer, women's volleyball, men's and women's cross country, men's and women's basketball, baseball, softball, men's and women's tennis, men's and women's golf and men's and women's indoor and outdoor track and field.  Athletics Facilities include the Student Recreation Center (volleyball, basketball, & tennis courts), Amy S. Harrison Field, Riverside Sports Complex, UCR Soccer Stadium, Ag/Ops Cross Country Course, UCR Track, UCR "Home" Golf Courses (Victory Club, Canyon Crest Country Club, PGA of Southern California, Goose Creek Golf Club, and General Old Golf Course) , UCR Fitness Center, and the UCR Pool at the PE Building.
